Every member of the New Jersey Society of Certified Tree Experts have successfully passed the tests that permits him to use the title "Certified Tree Expert", willingly assumes responsibility that it imposes:

* He accepts the fact that upon his honesty, diagnostic ability, quality of workmanship, and the worthiness of his ethics, depends the standing of his profession.

* He will therefore use every resource at his disposal as an individual and in organized effort with his certified associates to constantly improve his knowledge and ability that he may render the highest type of scientifically correct and mechanically perfect service to those whom he serves.

* In striving towards this end, he will endeavor to banish any selfishness, carelessness, dishonesty and any disrespectful thinking and speaking of other other members of his profession and give his best to its advancement.

* He will put honesty of purpose and devotion to those ideals of service above personal gain.

* He realizes that only by the example of all can the name "Certified Tree Expert" stand worthy of the confidence of those who appreciate the value of professional tree care
